In the State of NJ teachers are required to complete twenty hours of professional development per year in order to meet the state standard of 100 hours within a five year period.  Our use of Professional development as an alternative assessment is in line with The Preamble of the State of New Jersey Department of Education:  Academic and Professional Standards.

Teachers and educational leaders are constantly being challenged to increase their skills and knowledge through professional development, personal reflection, and direct observations by their supervisors.

The links provided below are an easy to follow template that can be printed and used at the school or district level for teachers and educational leaders, alike, to track their personal professional improvement plan.
